On Wednesday we went bowling with Mrs. Bowden's/Unsworth's class. All the students did an amazing job and had a blast! Thank you for everyone's generous donations to Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and for all of the parent helpers.
Yesterday I brought in a turkey and a cow heart for the students to inspect and inquiry about. We began by graphing how big they thought a turkey heart would be; I gave them three sizes to choose from. Next we talked about the relationship between the size of your body and the size of your heart. We all came to the conclusion that the bigger the body the bigger their heart would be. Finally it was time for the students to check the hearts out for themselves. They used their scientist senses to explain what they saw and make comparisons between the two hearts.
Valentine's was a jam packed day but we all had a ton of fun. We graphed our fruit, made friendship fruit salad, rotated through valentine stations with Mrs. Bowden's class, had a dance, and opened our valentines! Thank you to all of the parents for sending your child with valentines and fruit. Happy Valentine's Day!
