With the Egg Launch/Glide on Thursday afternoon, Mrs. Farber issued a challenge this week. How can you make something fly through the air without throwing or kicking it? Hmmmmm.....many puzzled faces. Once we headed out to the Build it Bin, though, my future scientists went to work. Let's try this....no, no....try it that way. Oh what fun! Lots of "Heads up!" and "Look out!" Things definitely went flying and quite a bit of experimenting and learning took place.
In Math, we have just started a unit on measurement. We will talk about length and width, area, capacity, weight, and time. We are beginning with length and using non-standard measurement tools to practise measuring everyday objects. The students are having a lot of fun using space sticks, cubes and their feet to measure.
